Television is Better than Movies, or vice-versa?

Today I want to talk about television and movies. Is television better than movies, or are movies better than television? It’s a question that I’ve made my mind up on, but I’m curious as to what other people think. I made made a pros and cons list on TV and movies, to better help me figure out what is better in my mind. So I got some paper, and started to write it out, and from the results, I was right in the first place. Lets move onto the list shall we?

Pros – Television

The pros that stood out in TV are going to be listed here. This is the list that I came up with. If you have any additions, then please leave me a comment down below! I would love to add to this list!

  • Television can be recorded to watch later. Movies can to, but not the general one that you want most of the time. There is also a general list of movies that are being played for free, and that list stays the same for a while before they change it. Basically it’s harder to record the exact movie that you want, than it is to record the TV series that you want.
  • Television has long series, that can keep the story going. Television has the power to make many series in the process of telling it’s story. Movies have a time limit of about two hours, to three. Many people would be upset sitting there for three hours in a movie theater, but that’s just because they’re boring! Anyways movies don’t have the time to always tell their complete story, so they have to go into production to make a sequel.
  • Television shows are on each week, with a new episode. It’s always a good, when your favorite show comes on that night!
  • I feel that television gets you move involved with the actual story and the cast of characters. You become more connected with whats happening, and what’s going on with your favorite characters. In movies you have your main character, and you don’t usually become that connected to them. They’re just not that important!
  • I also believe that television is more memorable than movies. If you asked me about a certain show, and told me to tell you about it, then I probably could. Movies I tend to forget, and I don’t remember much about them all the time.
  • Television is built up. It’s story carries on, the characters become more important. The story becomes more exciting and intense.

Pros – Both

  • Television and movies both are provided on paid services such as Netflix, Hulu, etc.
  • Television and movies bother  offer great entertainment, and I’m not saying that either one is terrible.

Pros – Movies

  • Movies can be rented and watched later that day. This allows you to rent whatever movie you want from maybe iTunes, paper-view, etc.
  • Movies are short and usually finish after the first one. Most movies don’t have a sequel and just end, even when they don’t feel like they should have.
  • Movies allow you to go out with your family and friends. It’s a get together thing, that most of the time you don’t do with television.
  • Going to the movies is fun, and it makes it a get out of the house thing!

Alright so there’s my pros list, and by the looks of it; I like television more than movies right? Well it’s true, I do indeed like watching TV series than I do movies. To me television is way more powerful than movies, because it does it’s job so much better. If you where to ask me which one tells it’s story better, I’d say television. I think that they should show popular TV series in the movie theaters! It would be amazing to go watch, say Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, or Dexter in a movie theater. A bunch of fans, all interested in the same show, all watching it on the big screen. It would be a blast!

Okay, now onto the cons list. I had a hard time with this part, as my brain stopped working once I got to here. So if you have anything to add, please leave a comment down below! If I like it and it makes since, then I’ll add it!

Cons – Television

  • Television sometimes go on for way to long, and they start to lose their greatness. A show that I really liked, called Weeds went on for a long time. It was great, but I just kept thinking… How are they going to end this? Then that time came… They ended the show, and it just felt like they gave up on it. The ending just wasn’t that great. Which to me seems like they got tired of the show, realized that it’s been going on for way to long… and then decided to end it.
  • To watch some shows you have to have a subscription to that service, such as HBO, Showtime, etc. This sucks, because I love the Game of Thrones and Dexter; but I don’t want to pay for their service all the time, because it gets expensive.

Cons – Both

  • Movies and television can be expensive. Paying to go to the movies, buying snacks, etc. Paying for television services, it all adds up!

Cons – Movies

  • Movies don’t always fell like their over and have ended, but they actually have. Sometimes when a movie ends, and the ending just seems out of place, you think there has to be another one right? Well not always, so this leads to confusion, and that just sucks.
  • Movies just don’t have enough time to make them as good as we all wish.

Well guys that’s my rant/discussion for today I hope that you enjoyed it, and can leave me some feedback! Tell me what you think about this whole talk, and even add onto it in the comments. Also tell me what you think of the idea that television should be shown in the movie theater.

Breaking Bad Season 5 – Rabid Dog

Rabid Dog Recap

This is by far one of the most intense episodes yet. We return, where Walt is on his way to his house, knowing that Jessie is there pouring gasoline all over it. Walt arrives to his house, and decides to enter from the back. With his gun ready, he enters the perimeter. Looking for Jessie, Walt realizes that Jessie is no where to be found.

Walt know figures that he has to have some reasoning behind why there is gasoline in he carpet floor. Well first he gets a carpet cleaning crew to come clean the floors, in which it didn’t fully take care of the problem. So knowing Walt, he’s going to have some master plan on why all of this ended up happening. Soon enough his wife Skyler, and his son Walt Jr, walk in. Their confused and as they walk in the door, Walt is on his knees scrubbing the floor. He explains the whole situation, that the gas pump exploded out gasoline, and drenched him. He left his clothes on the carpet, which caused the house to smell. Walt Jr, comes up with another explanation, pertaining his sickness. Walt Jr thinks that his dad passed out from the smell of the gas, and that caused this whole situation. Skyler knows that his is all a bunch of bull, but plays along because her son is sitting with them. Walt suggests that they’d go to a hotel, where they can allow this to get fixed in the meantime.

Now we’re back to the part where Jessie is pouring gasoline all over Walt’s house. Right before Jessie is about to drop the match, Hank comes running in. Hank makes a proposal, that if Jessie would help him, that he’d be out of all this trouble. Jessie just needs to tell Hank what he knows. Jessie agrees, and Hank drives him strait to his house. Jessie wakes up, and Hank and his partner are there waiting. Hank is setting up a camera, to record Jessie’s story. Jessie tells his story, and Hank and his partner are lost, because it doesn’t prove anything about Walt. Hank then realizes that Jessie received a call from Walt, telling him to meet him in the plaza to talk.

In the meantime, Walt and Skyler are having a conversation about what is really going on.  Skyler know that Walt is not telling her something. Walt has no choice, but to just tell her flat out. He explains the situation, and Skyler thinks that their in big danger. She then goes off by saying that Walt could basically just deal with it. Walt’s confused about what Skyler is trying to tell him, or he just doesn’t believe what she is saying. Walt then explains that he’s not just some kid, that he’s someone that means something to him.

Back to Hank and Jessie. Their on the way to the plaza, where Jessie is going to confront Walt. Walt is sitting right in the middle of the plaza, where many people are hanging around. Jessie gets out of the car and makes his way towards Walt. Jessie stalls, as he sees a man sitting over yonder, just watching him. He panics and makes his way away from Walt. Jessie goes to a near payphone, where he dials Walt’s number, and threatens him. Walt doesn’t understand, and he is know panicking. The man that was looking at Jessie, was just another guy playing with his daughter in the plaza. He wasn’t part of Walt’s plan at all. Hank is utterly confused by what Jessie just did. Jessie is picked up in the van, and tells Hank that theirs another way.

The episode comes to and end where Walt is calling Todd, and letting him know that theirs another job at hand.

Now I’m going to ask this question again, because I think this episode adds a whole new layer onto the cake.

Breaking Bad Season 5 – Buried and Confessions

Breaking Bad Season 5, Episode Buried.

Another fantastic episode of the hit show Breaking Bad has passed. Two episodes in, and things are still heating up. In this episode Hank immediately gets in contact with Skyler, to see if she knows anything. Hank and Skyler show up at some coffee house, where Hank tries to convince Skyler to speak about anything pertaining to Walt’s meth business. Hank has no idea that Skyler has been apart of this for a while now, and Hank feels like Skyler is being pinned down to not say anything. Skyler reacts with wanting a lawyer, and continually yells “Am I under arrest!” Skyler is able to make it out with no confessions spilled. Walt on the other hand is trying to get his money moved. He gives Saul a call and asks him to get his boys to move the money from the storage container. The money is moved and brought to Walt. Walt knows Skyler has been in contact with Hank, so he has to make a move. Walt Decides to put his money underground out in the desert. This is very close to the location where Walt and Jessie did their first cook in the RV. Walt returns home, where Skyler conveys that she didn’t say anything to Hank. On the other hand Hank has no evidence, and returns to work finally. When he’s at work, he finds out that Jessie Pinkman has been arrested. Hank Decides that he needs to give Jessie a little visit.

Did you enjoy this episode? Did you think that Jessie was going to say anything?

Breaking Bad Season 5, Episode Confessions

Woo another episode down. Three episodes in, and the show just got even more intense. This episode has personally been my favorite so far. Lets recap the episode shall we. This was a huge episode. Walt is called by Todd, to be informed that there has been some changed in management. Walt and Skyler meanwhile join Hank and Marie for a little chat. Well Walt is trying to convince Hank that there is nothing to worry about anymore. Walt pledges that he is out of the business. Hank is thinking that Walt is out of his mind for thinking that he would just let him go. Marie wants Hank to put Walt away, and for the kids to come to their house so they’d be safe. Walt on the other hand is prepared for Hank to not let it go. Walt made his so called “confession” tape just for Hank. The confession video, didn’t make Walt look like the bad guy, but indeed made Hank look it. The video was all about how Hank made Walt do all that he did. It worked perfectly, makes Hank and Marie blindsided. Jessie is out of jail, and didn’t confess anything to Hank. Jessie just seems at lost. He doesn’t know what to do, where to go, and how to go about doing things. Walt and Jessie meet up, out in the middle of no where. It becomes a huge emotional moment, where Jessie has actually broken down. Walt suggests using the number that Saul has to become a new person, with a new identity. Jessie agrees, and decides that he will go to Alaska. It wouldn’t go down that easy now would it. Jessie is getting ready to board the bus, and be on his way. When suddenly he decides to smoke, and then realizes that the his ricin is missing from the pack. Jessie then rushes to  Saul’s office, blaming him on why the ricin was gone, and saying that he knew about Brock’s poisoning. He said he knew about it, but didn’t know what Walt was going to do with it. Jessie, extremely pissed bombards Walt’s home and pours gasoline all over it. Walt receives the warning call from Saul, and makes up some excuse to look into the vending machine. In the vending machine is a pistol, that Walt has grabbed. He then makes an excuse again, that he has to head somewhere to pickup a prescription that he’d forgotten about.

Wow what an intense episode huh? What do you think Walt is going to do to Jessie? What is Jessie going to do to Walt?

Also, sorry about being a little late on these discussions!
